Dear Parent:

Thank you for your interest in Christ Covenant School. We are in awe of what God has done here, and we are excited to see Him at work and to join Him there. Our mission is simple; we are here to serve the Christian family by providing a Christian education marked by three things:

A biblical worldview. Simply put, this means that our teachers train each student to integrate or connect their Christian faith with their learning. They are taught to understand, analyze, and interpret every subject from a biblical perspective. The psalmist declares:

The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge. (Ps. 19:1-2)

In other words, all of creation is like a grand textbook revealing to us the glory of its Creator. Accordingly, our students are taught specifically how to understand science, math, history, etc., from a biblical perspective so that they come to see the glory of God in all that they study. For example, in math students are taught that the infinity of numbers “declares or gives evidence of” the infinitude of God. Likewise, students are taught that God is sovereign and that human history with all of its secondary political and economic causes is ultimately the outworking of God's plan in human history.

Academic excellence. We are passionately committed to the pursuit of excellence throughout the educational program. In a world dominated by mediocrity, CCS will strive to help each student realize his or her God-given potential. This goal is best achieved by maintaining high academic standards that encourage each student to do his or her best. It also means that teachers work with each student to acquire a mastery of basic skills and curriculum content and to develop and apply critical thinking skills to various subjects and contexts. This is done through the classical method of teaching, or Trivium, where students are given the tools to both learn for themselves and think for themselves, tools they will take with them for the rest of their lives.

Affordability. Christ Covenant School strives to provide the best overall value in excellent Christian education. We are able to provide such value by exercising wise stewardship of our resources and by providing financial aid. Our goal is to make quality Christian education accessible to as many Christian families as possible.

In addition to our mission, we are guided by some basic principles that we believe are essential to the provision of excellence in Christian education. Some of these principles are: maintaining an equal and sustained emphasis on the academic and spiritual development of our students (we will not ignore one at the expense of the other), the development of a standards based curriculum, and the conviction that a school is only as good as its teachers. Commitment to these basic principles helps to ensure that we provide our students with a Christian education of distinction within a challenging and nurturing environment.

If you desire more information, please call 756-3002. Again, thank you for your interest in Christ Covenant School. May God bless you and your family.

Sincerely,
Steve Elliott
