History
Christ Covenant School began as a vision in 1990. When Christ Presbyterian Church (PCA) was founded, part of the vision for ministry was to start a school - one that not only pursued academic excellence, but also taught children to think and live as Christians. These goals were best pursued through the founding of a classical Christian school which sought to recover biblical learning in the Seven Liberal Arts.
After years of praying and planning, the vision became a reality. In 2000, Christ Covenant School opened its doors to 11 students from 10 families. In our second year of operation, enrollment more than tripled, and three more grades were added. Since then, we've enjoyed steady growth and strong support and encouragement from the community. In 2007 CCS became the first independent Christian school in Pitt County, as the session of Christ Presbyterian determined we were strong enough to stand on our own.
We are currently members of both the Society for Classical Learning and the Association of Christian Schools International. Our desire is to become an accredited K-12 school, complete with co-curricular activities. With each step we are taking we are striving for excellence in all our plans and practices. We are currently seeking to implement our ten year Strategic Plan and have formed a Marketing Plan. We have a growing number of godly and impassioned faculty. We pray CCS will be a lighthouse of godly training in our community for generations to come.
